Canon Eos 5D

Hey there,

I have a quick enquiry and I was wondering if anyone could leave a few helpful words for me.

I hope to buy a Canon Eos 5D in the next week or so and I was wondering if anyone else had one? If so - what are your thoughts on the camera? And would you recommend it?

If you've another camera that you think would work just as well if not better, I'd appreciate it greatly if you could leave a comment :]

This will be my first "proper" camera purchase, I've been shooting with a Kodak V610 for the last year or so now, and I'd really like to get professional.

Thank you in advance!

Athens Cafe in Astoria

Athens Cafe in Astoria

It was a cold and rainy day, but that didn't keep people from sitting outside at the Athens Cafe on 30th Avenue in Astoria. The warm glow is exactly that, it's furnished by heaters.

I can't wait to photograph this place during a snowstorm. You know people will still be outside if it's not too windy.

Photoshop help.

I did a shoot recently with a belly dance troupe. We did it in their dance studio, plain white walls and hardwood floors. It wasn't anything fancy pants, they just wanted some photos for their website. They requested softness because two of them are older and wrinkle conscious.

In the shots, they had a balance bar in the background. They would like that removed, but I am having a heck of a time with it. The white doesn't match up when I use the clone stamp and I can't seem to make it look uniform.

Do you guys have any tips? I know it can be done and probably done easily, but I am not very skilled in PS.

Thanks in advance if you can help me with technique.

This is better seen large.

I love the view of the setting sun from my terrace. I face south and east from 30th Road and Crescent Street in Astoria.

It's a challenge to get a really good photo. I like this one, but there will be better. Patience, it just takes patience.

Between fall and winter

A few close-ups shot while taking a walk with my brothers. I tried to get some interesting shots, but remember that my only equipment is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 and I can't make those professional-looking makros. So please, judge my skill, not my equipment...
